Manuscript, in a single hand, of a treatise which describes the histories, civilizations, and governments of countries of Europe and elsewhere, including Portugal, France, Persia, Africa, and Russia. The treatise includes a lengthy account of the discovery of America by Christopher Columbus, as well as accounts of the voyages and discoveries of Vasco de Balboa, Hernan Cortes, and Francis Drake. The manuscript also discusses the metals, fruits, animals, and native inhabitants of the American continent. The treatise is followed by an essay, in German, on the Constitution of the Holy Roman Empire.
